This blog is about a boy living in the Reiwa era (basketball experience: 3 years in junior high school) who has read "SLAM DUNK" from volume 1, vents his concerns and questions, and tries to research and resolve them.

This is Part 2, so I hope you'll join me in following Slam Dunk from Part 1 (^^)

The first quarter of volume 1 has ended, and after the break the second quarter will begin!

2Q: What does JAM mean in “#6 JAM!”?

This title was given to the scene where Sakuragi caught the ball during the Sakuragi vs. Akagi match.

The match between Sakuragi and Akagi begins when Sakuragi insults Akagi by calling him the "ball-pouring club," which is a game of basketball. At the end of the match, Akagi finally gets the ball, and the title changes to "JAM!"

It's an English word that you don't often come across even when studying English (゜-゜)

Let's check it out together! You might even learn more about basketball!

JAM=Crisis, Dunk Shot

JAM also means a "predicament" or "pinch," as well as a "dunk shot" in basketball.

(There is a unique technique called "Meteor Jam" for a character named Kagami in the manga Kuroko's Basketball.)

In the story, Sakuragi was indeed pushed into a corner, and in the end he was able to make a dunk shot and defeat Akagi, so this title is a great one!

It's great that you can not only learn about basketball through basketball manga, but also learn English!

Well, the second quarter is over, so we'll have a long interval. Let's run and shout and do our best in the second half!
